Blessings of Joy

Go to  November 2017 update.

Blessings of Joy is a ministry supporting the education of orphans and poor children in  Uganda, Africa through the Mweruka Junior School.  What began in 2006 as an orphanage school serving 200 poor children, has grown to caring for over 320 children, providing education, meals, proper healthcare and skill training for older students. They Only Need A Smile
One of the most interesting thing is to spend time with the young ones. The little children always bring a smile on my face. That is why I take some time to laugh with them. To them an adult is always a hero. Blessings of Joy is pleased to have special people who have come out and decided to sponsor and support the children in Uganda. The children you see are all supported by Blessings of Joy. It takes $35 a month to sponsor a child.

Days for Girls "Sew & Go" is a Redeemer "hands on" ministry that directly impacts lives of the girls at Blessings of Joy.  Click here to learn more about this special ministry.

Solomon also ministers to his people in open air 'Gospel Crusades'.  As he indicates below, many are being saved.  Solomon will also be going into the prison's in the area where he lives to minister to those that will listen.   If you would like information about traveling to Blessings of Joy, click here.
If you would like to assist with these Gospel Crusades, donations given via RCC should be earmarked for "BOJ mission crusades" in the memo line.

November 2017
Message from Jon Calvert highlighting special needs for Solar Energy for Uganda School:
November 29th is Speech Day (graduation/promotion day) for Mwenruka Junior School.  The 5-15 year old students will take their summer break (December and January) and return to school in February.

Blessings of Joy has a wonderful opportunity to bring electricity to the school in the form of solar energy. The school is in a remote area so it would be very expensive to have electricity brought to the schools.(The schools would have to pay cost of all poles, wire & labor - and then the cost for the electricity and it's maintenance.)  For approximately $3,500, solar energy can be installed though. This will not pay for the entire school being able to have electricity, but would be a good start.

$2,250 of the $3,500 has been pledged by a Redeemer couple if the remainder of $1,250 could be received by December 20th.

We thank those who have already responded with a donation.  If anyone else would like to contribute to Solar Power for MJS, a check can be made out to Blessings of Joy and be mailed to:

Please indicate on Memo line:  "SOLAR" so that we will know your preference.

Thank you for keeping Blessings of Joy and especially the students at Mweruka Junior School in your prayers.
