Mark Twain Elementary School

Mark Twain Elementary School

Redeemer has adopted a school, Mark Twain Elementary, in West Tulsa.  These children are growing up in generational poverty and desperately need love, attention, and hope! There are many ways to get involved. Every day of the week you will find Redeemer folks volunteering at Mark Twain and making a difference in the lives of children.

Specific opportunities to Serve:
1)    Mentoring: Be a Lunch buddy, reading buddy, or tutor.
2)    Join the Science Enrichment Team (Wednesdays)
3)    Classroom: Birthday Celebrations (once a month), Adopt a Classroom, Classroom helpers, and Field trips
4)    Teacher Appreciation: Since Mark Twain teachers do not have “homeroom moms” or an active PTA, we want to provide that for them with words of encouragement and treats for the staff lounge from RCC on a monthly basis.
5)    Special Events: Trunk or Treat, Thanksgiving Baskets to families in need, Santa Pictures & Christmas Party, Christmas Giving Tree, Beautiful Day, Dream Builders Rhythm & Arts Camp, Quarterly Literacy Nights.

All new and returning mentors must fill out a TPS Volunteer/Background check form and a preference sheet form. To receive these forms, (or for more information) fill out this form.
